There is some interest in its use in various applications like the use in the Computing Operations project to help with the onboarding of new operators and support during their standard operations, or for the support of shift takers to make critical information available that is often buried in huge logbooks or operational instructions. There are many other application that we have thought about but one of the core lessons we have learned is that constructing a framework is only the beginning the real work lies in tuning the specific application in such a way that it is fast, reliable and complete. Each application has a very specific purpose and needs to be tuned to provide the required functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bottom line is that there is a lot of activity now at the labs in the AI applications and we are on track to make an impact with A2RCHI. Defining the application—implemented with A2RCHIK—and tuning its performance, which includes benchmarking will be the key components of the work ahead of us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
In a recent article, Joachim Mnich, CERN’s present Director of Research and Computing, states that Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a strategic imperative at CERN.
