The CERN director, Fabiola Gianotti, goes through her usual New Years address and presents accomplishments of the last year and the plans for the coming year(s). An amazing talk as every year because there is a lot going on at CERN.
As usual the talk is brief but hits all the highlights. The updated LHC schedule is hidden in there on slide 27, we have pulled it out here for so we can study it… Three years of experiment shutdown follow the Run 3 period after which the LHC has been upgraded to deliver highest luminosity for the ‘High Lumi LHC’ (HL-LHC).
