FTS/XRootD workshop in Barcelona

This year, the workshop was organized by PIC, and the venue took place on campus of Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. The university is located in a quite isolated place, ~50 mins by train from the center of Barcelona. There were five days of presentations and discussions on XRootD, Rucio, and FTS current issues and future plans. Most attendants were from CERN or other European T1/T2 centers, but I also ran into a couple familiar faces from the US.

Meeting a lot of developers and operators in person was priceless, because discussing issues we have is much easier in person then by long distance. I learned about nearest future development plans for data management and transfer tools, met people that can help with deploying some services like FTS. At the end I understand much better how to tackle the issues that we face at our Tier-2.
